November Savings Goals

Hey guys!
(This month is sponsored by Disney princesses because why not?)

What did I get up to this November?
As mentioned in my October Savings Goals post, I spent the first week of November in the Bahamas! It was only four days (three and a half, really) but it was a nice break away from the fall-rush at work. The only problem is that although I came back about a month ago, it feels like this trip was THREE MONTHS AGO because November has been busy! I worked a lot, I slept a little, and although I didn’t eat out as much as last month, I did spend a bit more than my share on Black Friday deals and I’m implementing a new No-Buy for 2015, but what else is new?

November Achievements?
– I spent less than $10 on take-out coffee this month! And that included coffee in the Bahamas! Whoaa.
– This month I set my 2015 Net Worth Goals and it requires a lot of savings! (But I’ve got it)
– I donated 20lbs of beauty products to a women’s shelter and made two boxes for the Shoebox Project
– I volunteered with Spark Sessions and it revitalized my love for my beauty blog Darling Magpie, look for more posts there this winter!

Yeah, I'm good.

So, not bad for only being around for three weeks… Here’s how my money fared.

TFSA/Emergency Fund

September – Goal $600/month. Actual: $600

Completed and on track! If I keep this up I’ll reach my 2015 Net Worth Goal by August, leaving me a cool nest egg to figure out my next step after my job ends.

RRSP

September – Goal: $250/month. Actual: $250 ($250 in my Tangerine RSP Mutual Fund)

I’ve stuck with my managed account from my old job, but what I really want to do is transfer some of my money from my cash RRSP to my managed account and my mutual funds. The teensy interest it’s gaining isn’t doing me much favours. This is my December goal.

Vacation Fund

September – Goal: $75/month. Actual: $75, automatic monthly withdrawal. Joint account with my boyfriend.

On track! Where will December take me?

Additional Savings

(i.e. new laptop fund, new phone, couch, big-ticket items)
September – Goal: $100/month. Actual: $100

I fluffed this a bit to pay for my trip to the Bahamas the first week of November, and despite not actually using that much from it I’ll need to keep it up to help pay for some fun during my vacation to New Orleans this December!

Savings Goals Round-Up

April Savings Goals: $625. Actual: $550 (-$75)
May Savings Goals: $800. Actual: $975 (+$175)
June Savings Goals: $825. Actual: $825 (+$0)< July Savings Goals: $875. Actual: $925 (+$50)
August Savings Goals: $925. Actual: $925(+$0)
September Savings Goals: $1025. Actual: $1075(+$50)
October Savings Goals: $1025. Actual: $1075(+$50)

November Savings Goals: $1025. Actual: $1025(+$0)

Plans for December

Well, it’s only the first week of December and I already have a minimum of three holiday parties or events each week, so December is more or less, full.
Too many holiday parties AAAAAAND the boyfriend and I are supposed to go away for the week of Chriatmas but we’re currently waiting on a passport so we’re stuck in the ‘pre-planning’ process until then so I have NO IDEA WHERE WE ARE GOING (just that it needs to be in budget, naturally.) So overall, considering the holiday season, I don’t have many financial goals this month except to stay in budget which is hard enough in December as is!

What are your goals for December, aka, the last month of 2014?
