Nov 11-17: Freebies of the Week – Free samples, contests & more
Free sample round-up from last week:
On Monday I came home from work to three boxes full of Van Houtte coffee, and also one Colgate toothpaste! (My breath is thanking you, Colgate!)
Each little package is about 12 cups of coffee, we got NINE of them. It’s going to last us quite awhile.
But the real gift from last week? The fantastic gift package I received from Benefit Canada for the #MyBeneSecret contest. You can see the photos and read all about it in yesterday’s post. If anything, last week proved that I KNOW what I’m talking about. The thing about entering contests and getting freebies is that you won’t get things immediately. It’s a game of delayed satisfaction but you definitely leave satisfied
Free Samples of the Week
Free 30ml Philosphy Purity 3-in-1 facial cleanser – Send a “holiday wish” to a friend, and you both will be submitted for a voucher for a free 30ml sample of Philosophy to pick up in store. Yeahyeah, that’s a lot of work for 30ml. BUT this offer will definitely get upgraded to 90ml closer to the date. That’s a $15 value!
Van Houtte Coffee Samples – The deal I listed above? It’s STILL ACTIVE! Send the info to a friend, and a few weeks later you get a 3-pack sample of their House, Columbian and Dark coffee.
Sample Source – This is new to me too, for some reason I’ve never signed up for this site! Sample Source sends out large seasonal packages of samples with all kinds of products. Sign up today and get alerted when they have another package available.
Yeah, I know. This week is a little freebie-light. I think brands are focusing on Black Friday promotions and the build up to one of the biggest shopping days in North America, thus, less freebies. But in the interim, here are some great sites to follow if you want to test your luck at contests. It takes perseverance and the art of basically ENTERING EVERYTHING, but you can come out a winner.
Win Free Movies (and other stuff)
SceneCreek (All across Canada) – This is a great review site that often gets fantastic passes for films in cities all across Canada, as well as DVDs and prize packs. They do a good number of them a month, follow on Twitter for updates.
Criticize This (Across Canada, but lots of Toronto too) – I also love the writing on Criticize This, a movie site which also features similar pass giveaways and contests like SceneCreek. Follow them on Twitter for updates.
Now Toronto (Toronto) – They offer LOTS of concert contest, I’ve personally won a few, and tickets to films, special events, prize packs for local merchants, all kinds of stuff! Sign up for the Contest Clique to get these mailed to you. I generally win a NOW prize once every few months.
Club Metro (Across Canada) – Movie tickets, prize packs, DVDs, concert tickets, all kinds of stuff! Club Metro offers a variety of contests a week to enter. Some are connected to their paper, some you just need to enter online.
Win tickets or a walk-on role in Ross Petty’s The Little Mermaid (Toronto) – Do you have a little one in your family? This is a great prize to enter for them! Win tickets to see the show or a chance for a kid to be IN the show!
While you’re at it, vote for me in the Keurig Perfect Cup contest, and create a cup yourself!
Next week I’ll focus on Twitter contests and why they are so lucrative, with a curated Twitter list of some of my favourites.
